Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 at an Olympic celebration. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci when she was just the age of six. She competed for the very first time at the National junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she took home the title of champion. In 1972, during a meet of communist countries juniors in the lead-up to the Olympics she won three medals of gold. In 1973 and 1974 she was named the all-around junior champ. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. She was a five-time European Champion, in her debut international senior championship in the year 1975. She took home four golds as well as a silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman to perform a backward double salto as an unmounting from bar that is uneven. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she began appearing in travel shows like Ice Capades as a skater as well as her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in entertainment in her teens. In her early years she was an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show called Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
